We used to eat cottage cheese and salsa when we were growing up. It was an easy dip, so delicious with more nutritional value than any other dip you could buy. It wasn’t the prettiest looking snack though, so naturally I had to change it up for the blog. This whipped cottage cheese and salsa is reminiscent of nacho cheese. It’s so easy to make, and high in protein. If you are feeling the need to devour some chips and nacho cheese, try this whipped cottage cheese and salsa recipe as an alternative.
For this recipe, you can use any salsa you would like. I used Pace Thick and Chunky medium salsa. I prefer a chunkier salsa, so the dip is a little thicker when it’s done. Take the salsa and drain some of the liquid out. I used a strainer. You can definitely skip this step, but the result will be a thinner, more loose dip.
Combine the drained salsa and cottage cheese into your blender. Blend until smooth. Serve this dip warm or cold with tortilla chips. Check out my homemade tortilla chips as an awesome addition to this recipe!
Cottage Cheese Queso
This is also a great topping for nachos or tacos! To make this recipe even more spicy, add jalapeños or spicy salsa.
