Blackstone Smash Burger

If you are looking for an easy burger recipe, give this smash burger a try. Minimal seasoning, prep and cook time, make these delicious, buttery burgers a sure win. My 3-year-old, who doesn’t usually eat much in the way of hamburgers, ate a whole one of these himself! They take less than 20 minutes to make, and each member of the family can customize the toppings. My personal favorite way to eat this is with caramelized onions and cheese. Nothing better than this blackstone smash burger.

Start by heating your griddle or grill. These can easily be done on a grill, but I prefer the caramelization that comes with the flat top griddle. Try it both ways to see which is your favorite. You will definitely make these more than once.

Use butter if you are using lean beef. It makes them that much better. Divide your beef into 4 equal parts and roll them into a ball without overworking the meat. Smash each ball onto the griddle. Season the beef, and let it cook for about 3 minutes. Flip and top with a slice of cheese. Let that cook for about 3 minutes more, until the cheese is melted and the other side is cooked.

You can choose to toast the burger buns as well, or leave them soft. I prefer to butter the buns and toast them either on the griddle or the grill.

You can also choose to caramelize your onions. Use butter and salt and sauté them in a pan. This blackstone smash burger are so buttery and tender, and well work every, single calorie.
