Ingredients & substitutions
- Ground beef – This recipe is the perfect way to use ground beef. But you can use any kind of ground meat that you would like.
- Corn starch – Just something to thicken the sauce. You can also use arrowroot starch.

- Soy sauce – I used low sodium soy sauce, but you can also use regular soy sauce or tamari.
- Sesame oil – You don’t use much, but it gives the recipe just a hint of a nutty flavor.
- Red pepper flakes – More if you like heat.
- Ground ginger
- Garlic minced – I like fresh garlic for this recipe, but if you don’t have it, you can use powdered garlic too.

Absolutely! You can use any kind of meat you would like. I would suggest either ground turkey or chicken, if you want a similar consistency. Or you can use stewed beef chunks. Any of those options would make this great. If you are vegetarian, use tofu!
