Homemade Ranch Dressing

Jump to Recipe

My mom loves to make her own salad dressings, and this one is a family favorite. I can’t take credit for this one, as she is an amazing home chef, and developed this recipe on her own. It’s so good though, I have to share it with all of you. This dressing is predominantly used on salads, but it’s also a great veggie dip or pizza topping. It’s so good, you will be tempted just to drink it, let’s be honest. If you love ranch, give this homemade ranch dressing recipe a try.

I’m a big fan of making my own dressings. It’s easier than you think, and they don’t have any of those chemicals you will find in those store bought, shelf stable types. And most importantly, they taste better. This ranch recipe is dill-heavy, so it makes for a great veggie dip as well. Whenever I make ranch, I keep ready to eat veggies in the refrigerator, as they become my family’s go-to snack when dipped in this tangy dressing.

All you need is a bowl, a whisk and some measuring spoons. Put all ingredients into a bowl and whisk it together. Pay special attention to the expiration date on the buttermilk, as that will be your guide as to how long the ranch will keep in the refrigerator.

You can literally put this homemade ranch dressing on anything and everything. But give it a try on my pesto flatbread!
