Gourmet Shrimp and Lobster Mac n’ Cheese
Who doesn’t love a big bowl of Mac n’ cheese? And when you add lobster and use high-end cheeses, you make a gourmet comfort food meal that you will want to eat every single day. This recipe was inspired by the Smack Shack in Minneapolis. Their lobster mac is made with Taleggio and Fontina cheeses. This recipe is made with Fontina and Brie. Using cheeses like this made this mac so decadent. I also added garlic to my recipe, because what’s a good pasta recipe without garlic!?

Lobster Mac n’ Cheese
Easy gourmet mac n' cheese recipe
Equipment
- Large pot
- wooden spoon
- oven safe dish
Ingredients
- 4 Lobster Tails
- 1 lb Shrimp
- 1 cup White Wine
- 1 cup Heavy Cream
- 2 cups Shredded Fontina Cheese
- 1 cup Brie Cheese rind removed, cut into 1/2 chunks
- 1 lb Elbow Mac
- 1/4 cup Salted Butter
- 1/2 cup Toasted Bread Crumbs
- 3 cloves Garlic I use a garlic press but you can also chop.
Instructions
- Add thawed lobster tails and shrimp to boiling water. Cook for 4-5 minutes until they are cooked through. Do not over cook. When done, put in a bowl with cool water to stop the cooking process. Meanwhile, boil water for noodles. Once boiling, add noodles and cook as directed.Add white wine to a sauce pan until it is almost completely reduced. Once reduced, add cream and three cloves of garlic (chopped) and cook that until cream reduced. This process should take about 10 minutes for the wine and about 10 minutes for the cream. Once that is done, turn head to low and add the butter. When butter is melted, turn off heat and slowly add the Fontina cheese until melted, then add the Brie until melted. Chop lobster and shrimp and add it to the pot of drained noodles, then add the cheese sauce and stir. In another pan over medium heat, melt a tablespoon of butter and add breadcrumbs, stirring constantly until they are crispy.Transfer mac to a bowl and top with breadcrumbs.
