Giardiniera Dip

If you need a super easy dip to throw together for a party, look no further than this creamy giardiniera dip. Made with only a few ingredients, it’s sure to please a crowd! You can make this as spicy or as mild as you would like. Whatever suits your needs! Paired with crispy crostini, it really is the perfect addition to any party.

Why you’ll love this giardiniera dip recipe

  • It comes together in minutes! I usually make this dip after I’ve already made ground sausage for other recipe. It’s a great way to use up that extra sausage, and makes this dip even easier to make when the sausage is already cooked.
  • You can make it as spicy or as mild as you would like! If you like it more spicy, buy hot giardiniera. If you like it more mild, buy the mild. Simple as that!
  • It’s so creamy and delicious, and your tastebuds will dance if you are lucky enough to get an olive in one of your bites. TRUST!

Here’s what you’ll need to make it

  • Frying Pan – This is for cooking your sausage. I like to cook the sausage ahead of time so this dip is easy to throw together when I’m ready to make it.
  • Bowl – A bowl large enough for mixing and serving.
  • Silicone spatula or spoon – I prefer to use a stiff silicone spatula, but any spoon will work!
  • Measuring Cups – You can measure or eyeball like I do.

Ingredients & substitutions

  • Cream cheese – Let your block of cream cheese sit on the counter for a half hour or so, so it comes close to room temperature.
  • Sour cream – Adding a little bit of sour cream will make the dip fluffier.
  • Giardiniera –  I used mild for this recipe, but if you like spicy, get the hot stuff.
  • Garlic powder – Because who doesn’t love a little extra garlic?
  • Ground sausage – Cook ahead of time so it’s ready to toss into the dip.
  • Crostini for dipping

FAQs about creamy giardiniera dip

How long will the giardiniera dip last?

This dip will last up to a week in the refrigerator, but I can guarantee it won’t last long!

Yes! You can substitute sour cream for plain Greek yogurt!

Why is giardiniera so good?

Noticing this trend himself, Kern explains that “it’s the combination of textures, acid from the vinegar, richness from the oil, and spice from the peppers,” that makes it such a versatile thing to have in your kitchen. Versatility aside, Chicago-style giardiniera caters to my deep inclination to be lazy.
