Air Fryer Buffalo Chicken Meatballs

Who doesn’t love a meatball? They are so versatile. You can make them with animal protein, plant protein, and it just about any flavor you want. You can even top them! In my opinion, there are no better meatballs than these air fryer buffalo chicken meatballs. They come together quickly, and are just dripping with ranch and delicious buffalo sauce. Top them with a few blue cheese crumbles and you have a winning recipe.

Here’s what you’ll need to make it

  • Air Fryer – I use a basket air fryer. You might be able to do these in one batch with a larger air fryer, but any air fryer will do. If you don’t have an air fryer, you can also bake these in the oven.
  • Large Bowl – Use this to mix up all of your ingredients.
  • Tongs – Kitchen tongs to remove meatballs from air fryer.

Ingredients & substitutions

  • Ground chicken 
  • Panko bread crumbs
  • Egg 
  • Buffalo sauce I used franks red hot
  • Chopped red onion
  • Chopped parsley – You can also use dried but I prefer fresh if I have it available to me.
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Ranch powder
  • Salt
  • Blue cheese crumbles – You will use some of these in the chicken mixture as well as toppings for the finished meatballs.
  • Buffalo sauce for drizzle
  • Ranch dressing for drizzle
  • Green onion for garnish

How to make this ground chicken meatballs air fryer

Step 1. To a bowl, add the ground chicken, panko, egg, buffalo sauce, blue cheese crumbles, onion, parsley and spices and mix until well combined.

Step 2. Roll mixture into meatballs. This recipe should make about 15-20 balls, depending on how large you make yours.

Step 3. Pre-heat air fryer to 400 degrees. Cook the meatballs in a single layer for about 8-10 minutes, tossing them every 3 minutes or so. You may have to do this in batches.

Step 4. Top them with buffalo sauce, ranch, blue cheese and green onions and serve.
